Beginner Rhythm Guitar - Part One - The Left Hand

When learning rhythm guitar (or any guitar really), it's important to first learn what to do with your left hand. Whilst your right hand has the important job of strumming and picking the strings, this isn't much use if your fingers aren't in the right place on the fretboard. A lot of practice is required because this will help you develop 'muscle memory' allowing you to think less and become more fluid at moving your fingers into position. The first half of this video shows you the finger positions for three open chords D, A and E before the second half teaches you how to practice changing between those chords with some simple exercises.
